Heat transfer is a movement of thermal energy from hot objects to cooler objects.

Heat transfer occurs by the means of Convection, Conduction, and Radiation

Convection: The transfer of heat energy between a solid surface and the nearby liquid or gas in motion
Conduction: The transfer of heat energy by direct contact
Radiation:    The transfer of heat energy through empty space

K Shield™ blocks and reflect all 3 heat transfers

During the summer, a home without K Shield™ will have about 80% of the sun’s hear radiant energy enter the home, only 10% is rejected by the roof and another 10% is rejected by the ceiling of the home.

For a home with the K Shield™, only about 3% of the sun’s heat radiant energy enters the home. 10% of it is rejected by the roof and 87% of the total energy will be rejected by the K Shield™

During the winter time, a home without the K Shield™ will see that 90% of the radiant heat from your home’s heating system will be lost through the ceiling. Only 10% will get rejected by the ceiling.

For a home with the K Shield™ during the winter time, only 3% will be lost through ceiling. The K Shield™ will reject 97% of the heat back into the home.

FAQ:

How does your K-Shield work?
As per the law of nature, heat always moves to a cooler area. Heat is transferred by means of CONVECTION, CONDUCTION, and RADIATION. The standard house insulation works by resisting heat transfer, however once it gets heated long enough, and the insulation will actually get saturated with heat and retains it. K-Shield
™ is different, instead of resisting heat, it reflects the heat. The K-Shield reflects heat radiation away from entering the house as well as acts a blockade against convective heat. When used with carbon fiber materials as seen in our garage door insulations, it will shield against conductive heat energy transfer.

Can the K-Shield™ keep me warm in the winter?
K-Shield
keeps the heat in the house from exiting the house through the walls by reflecting the heat back into the house. It is resilient enough to keep cold air out.

What is the “R” Value of the K-Shield
R value measures the thermal resistance value of a material. The K-Shield
™ however, does not absorb heat but rather reflects the heat energy, for this reason, K-Shield™ does not have an “R” value. With its highly reflective surface, K-Shield will reflect up to 97% of heat energy.

Is the K-Shield™ the same as kitchen foil?
You can find radiant barrier in places such as the Home Depot, more often than not, you will find that radiant barrier has the consistency and frailty of a kitchen foil. Our
K-Shield is nothing like that; it is a sturdy material that is resilient to wear and tear.

How much will K-Shield
save me on my utility bills?
K-Shield™ will save you 15-25% on your utility bills.

Will the K-Shield corrode over time and lose its effectiveness? Does it have a warranty?
As long as the
K-Shield™ is properly installed and is not exposed to outdoor weather conditions, they are expected to last the lifetime of the building structure. Therefore, New Energy Solutions guarantees the K-Shield™ with a lifetime manufacturer guarantee.
